How Would you Describe your Clothing Style? Is There a Specific Reason you Dress the Way you do?
Back in high school, during my psychology class one day, our teacher had us pass around a paper with only our names on it, and we had to write a compliment about the person on the page anonymously. And there was no way of knowing who wrote what aside from recognizing certain people’s handwriting, and some of the more obvious notes written. When I got my paper back, two people had written that they liked my style. Which is absolutely baffling to me, because up until that point I did not think I had a “style.” Not to say I just put on whatever and went to school, but I always just dressed comfortably and in clothes that fit nicely, never anything baggy or too tight. I don’t like wearing brand names, or anything with an enormous logo on it that doesn’t belong to a band I like or something like it. I don’t hop on trends; the only one I ever did was those picnic table scarf things, and that’s only because they were hella warm, and versatile. In any case, reading that my classmates thought I had style regardless of not trying on my part was definitely a small stroke of my ego, but I didn’t try to live up to any sudden expectation or anything. And I pretty much dress the same as I did in high school (different, new clothes, naturally), and it’s all a comfort thing.
