Bummed Vent

So I don’t want to come off as angry or anything, because it’s not my place to be angry. Although I will admit, I’m a bit upset. I was supposed to DJ for my friend’s sister’s 18th birthday, the payment for which was going to cover my trip to Vegas for EDC (I slashed my price by 50% in this case, friends and family discount. It’s a modest amount, and even on a road trip, frugality is key). And I’ve been prepping a lot in advance, cranking out a few more mash-ups and mixes to use in the set, and practicing mixing in general. Yesterday, the birthday girl told me that her uncle and aunt paid another guy to spin for the birthday. Not gonna lie, I’m pretty bummed, since I spent quite awhile prepping for it. And at the same time, I’m very worried about how I’m going to pay for EDC. I only have 4 and and a half months to come up with at least $200 to cover the travel. If it comes down to it, I’m going to have to sell my ticket, which is not a pleasant thought in the least. But hey, if I wait long enough, I can get an abhorrent amount for it on Craigslist or something.

  1. bmodest said: Also you have every reason to be angry. You were promised a show and at the last minute they reniged(sp?) on your agreement. This is why you always get these things in writing, be it family, friend or stranger.
