A Song That Holds A Lot Of Meaning To You (Like many people, this was the first song I heard by Mayday Parade. It still remains one of my favorite songs in my book.)
And when we look to the sky, it’s not mine, but I want it so.” <3

Your Top Three Favorite Bands
Go Radio - Number one favorite band. There just aren’t enough good things I can say about these boys. They’re super nice in person, they make some of the most powerful music in the pop punk scene in my opinion, and I am so grateful that Jason continued on after leaving Mayday Parade, and that he continued into something equally as strong, if not greater. Meeting them was everything I hoped it would be (I was absolutely fangirling for days afterwards). And seeing them live was one of the most memorable experiences I’ve had.
Mayday Parade - Formerly my number one favorite band. The melodies, the lyrics, the musicianship, it was all amazing. Once Jason left, they suffered in nearly every aspect. There’s no denying it; the lyrics, the guitars, the drums were all simplified. However, as subpar as Anywhere But Here was to A Lesson in Romantics, I still grew to love the album they made. The two bands have squashed any beef between them, which rarely happens, really. I love what Mayday used to be, and their new single gives me hope that they’re reclaiming the spark they had.
Farewell Fighter - I saw them live a few days ago, and that was such a fun experience. I guess it’s true once you see an artist live, your love and appreciation for them only expands to the borders of fangirling. They were all nice guys, dorky and I am happy that my friend reblogged that post of theirs offering their first EP for free, which is was led me to them in the first place <3
The Band That Has Had The Most Influence On Your Life (Old Mayday Parade, back when Jason Lancaster was in it, is my favorite band of all time and I will always love them for everything they’ve done for me. No joke, they may not be the “happiest” band in the world, but they’ve done their part in saving me more than once. For me, they were lyrically brilliant, and they just worked so well together. I still have a soft spot for them now, even though they clearly aren’t as good as they were back then. And with that, this challenge is done :])
Contempt (From the lyrical genius of Jason Lancaster. It’s hard to mistake the contempt and raw emotion in this song, but it’s more than just contempt. There’s regret, sadness, anger, everything has a reason. One reason why old Mayday Parade was such a fantastic band.)
“Take me home, I’d rather die than be with you
Take me home, you had a problem with the truth
Take me home, because this happens every time
And I knew it would… I knew it…
And I hope this makes you happy now (whoa)
That the flame we had is burning out (whoa)
And I hope you like your pictures facing down (whoa)
As even broken hearts may have their doubts
And I’m taking all your memories off the shelf (whoa)
And I don’t need you or anybody else (whoa)
So take a look at me
See what you want to see
When you get home…”
30 Day Song Challenge: Day 19 - A Song From Your Favorite Album (I am in love with this album, and with what this band used to be. <3)
